On February 5, the Department of Construction of Dong Nai province sent a document to the Ministry of Construction regarding the proposal to dismantle toll stations T1, T2 on National Highway 51, passing through Dong Nai province.
According to the Department of Construction of Dong Nai province, National Highway 51, the section passing through Dong Nai province, will be transferred by the Ministry of Finance to the People's Committee of Dong Nai province for management on April 16, 2025.
However, on the route section, there are still 2 toll stations T1 (Km10+778) and T2 (Km28+450) that have not been dismantled and have stopped collecting tolls since January 13, 2023 to date.
Through management, the Department of Construction of Dong Nai province found that toll stations T1 and T2 no longer have exploitation functions but still have station building structures, traffic diversion islands, foundations, signs and auxiliary items...
This leads to the potential risk of congestion and traffic accidents due to travel demand during peak hours, holidays, and increased cargo transportation demand in the upcoming traditional Tet holiday, causing negative public opinion for the locality.
The Department of Construction of Dong Nai province believes that, with the current shortcomings, the complete dismantling of toll stations T1 and T2 is extremely necessary and urgent to restore the cross-section of the road according to the design scale, resolve voters' and businesses' petitions, and contribute to stabilizing order and ensuring traffic safety.
Therefore, the Department of Construction of Dong Nai province requests the Ministry of Construction to pay attention to and consider directing investors and related units to dismantle 2 toll stations T1, T2 to synchronize with the dismantling progress of toll station T3 in Ho Chi Minh City.
Previously, in December 2025, the Department of Construction of Dong Nai province also had a document requesting the dismantling of toll stations on National Highway 51.
