He said this is his first film project as a director. He admitted that when bringing the film to theaters, debate is inevitable, especially with a work with Northern cultural colors. However, Minh Beta does not see it as pressure. He believes that cinema is a place of cultural exchange and audiences are increasingly open to diversity.
What I am aiming for is to spread Vietnamese cultural values, each region has its own unique and interesting features. I know many Northern audiences love Southern culture, and vice versa, there are also many Southern audiences who love and want to learn about Northern culture, so I hope everyone will go to the cinema to watch movies this Tet holiday," he said.
Meritorious Artist Xuan Hinh - who plays Mr. Mui, said that participating in a movie at the age of nearly 70 is a big challenge. The tight filming schedule requires endurance and high concentration, but he sees this as a memorable experience in his artistic journey.
The male artist affirmed that he has tried his best for the role and does not put much emphasis on the revenue story. According to him, each film has its own opinions of praise and criticism, the important thing is that the crew works seriously and respects the audience.
Mui Pho" is a 2026 Tet movie directed by Minh Beta, gathering a cast of many generations. The work revolves around a family story and the preservation of the traditional pho cooking profession, taking cuisine as a support to tell memories and bonds. The movie is scheduled to premiere from the 1st day of Tet nationwide.
