The T3 terminal project of Tan Son Nhat airport has reached more than 90% of the construction volume and is expected to be tested from April 24, 2025.
From May 5, 2025, this terminal will officially be put into operation, serving all domestic flights of Vietnam Airlines and Vietjet Air.
Terminal T3 is designed to become the largest domestic terminal in the country, with a service capacity of up to 20 million passengers per year.
When terminal T3 comes into operation, along with terminal T1 and T2, Tan Son Nhat airport will have a total operating capacity of up to 50 million passengers per year.

Because Terminal T3 is located separately from Terminal T1 and T2, the organization of traffic in and out has also changed. Instead of using the Truong Son route as before, vehicles will move in two main directions through the route connecting Tran Quoc Hoan - Cong Hoa and the expanded Hoang Hoa Tham route.
In order to ensure connectivity with Tan Son Nhat T3 terminal, since the end of 2022, Ho Chi Minh City has started construction of the Tran Quoc Hoan - Cong Hoa connecting road with a total investment of more than VND 4,800 billion.
The main road is more than 4km long, with a cross-section of 25m - 48m, including 6 lanes. In addition, the two connecting roads, 18E and C2, have also been expanded with a scale of 3 - 4 lanes.

Currently, the section from Phan Thuc Duyen underpass to Hoang Hoa Tham street, 1.25km long, has been completed and put into operation. At the same time, the 4-lane overpass in front of terminal T3 has been completed, ready to connect directly to the terminal.
The remaining part of the Tran Quoc Hoan - Cong Hoa connecting road (from Hoang Hoa Tham Street to Truong Chinh Street) is under urgent construction and is expected to be opened to traffic before April 20, 2025.
In addition, Hoang Hoa Tham Street is also being expanded with a total investment of nearly 300 billion VND. The project is nearly 800m long, stretching from Cong Hoa Street to the gate of the military tent (adjacent to the airport), with the road surface expanded to 22m, 4 lanes.
This route has been put into use in phase 1 before the Lunar New Year 2025 and will be fully operated before April 30, 2025.

After the two routes are completed, vehicles will have two main directions to tunnel to Terminal T3.
From Binh Duong, Dong Nai, Thu Duc City follows Pham Van Dong - Bach Dang road axis - turn left into Truong Son - turn right onto the road connecting Tran Quoc Hoan - Cong Hoa to get to terminal T3.

From the center and south of Ho Chi Minh City, follow the Nam Ky Khoi Nghia - Nguyen Van Troi - Phan Thuc Duyen route - the road connecting Tran Quoc Hoan - Cong Hoa to enter Station T3.

From the West and Northwest of Ho Chi Minh City (Binh Tan districts, Binh Chanh district, Hoc Mon, Cu Chi) can follow Cong Hoa street, then turn left onto the road connecting Tran Quoc Hoan - Cong Hoa at the section near the Cong Hoa fishing port.
Or you can go along Hoang Hoa Tham Street, then turn right onto the Tran Quoc Hoan - Cong Hoa connecting road to get to T3 Station.
