HCMC - Terminal T3 of Tan Son Nhat airport is expected to open on April 30, serving domestic flights, helping to reduce the load on Terminal T1.

On March 13, Vietnam Airports Corporation (ACV) said that domestic passenger terminal T3 at Tan Son Nhat airport is expected to officially open on April 30, on the occasion of the 50th anniversary of the country's reunification.

Previously, a trial operation will be deployed to ensure smooth exploitation activities.

In the first phase, terminal T3 will serve domestic flights of Vietnam Airlines and Vietjet Air, while Vasco, Bamboo Airways, Vietravel Airlines and Pacific Airlines will continue to operate at terminal T1.

The T3 terminal project consists of four main items: Passenger terminal, high-rise parking lot combined with a non-airspace service area, overpass system and aircraft parking lot. The station has a modern design with a basement and four upper floors, with a total construction floor area of up to 112,500 m2.

Regarding equipment, the terminal is equipped with 90 stalls for traditional procedures, 20 automatic luggage delivery stalls, 42 check-in kiosks, 27 flight departure gates (including 13 hotline gates and 14 bus departure gates), 6 departure baggage handling islands and 10 arrival baggage return islands, along with 25 security control gates.

The project has a total investment of nearly VND 11,000 billion. When put into operation, terminal T3 will help reduce pressure on terminal T1, improve passenger service capacity, and meet the increasing travel demand at Tan Son Nhat airport.
