4,800 billion VND road in Ho Chi Minh City finalizes the opening date of the entire route

HCMC - The Tran Quoc Hoan - Cong Hoa connecting road worth more than VND4,800 billion will be open to traffic before April 20, reducing traffic pressure at the gateway to Tan Son Nhat airport.

The Tran Quoc Hoan - Cong Hoa connecting road project started construction at the end of 2022, with a total investment of more than VND 4,800 billion.

The main road is more than 4 km long, 25 - 48 m wide with 6 lanes, connecting two more branches of 18E and C2 roads with 3 - 4 lanes wide.

In addition to the overpass in front of T3 station, the project also includes two underpasses at major intersections, Tran Quoc Hoan - Phan Thuc Duyen and Truong Chinh - Tan Ky Tan Quy.

Initially, the city set a target of completing the entire route by December 31, 2024, but due to land clearance problems, the progress was delayed.

Up to now, the 1.25 km section (from the underpass of Phan Thuc Duyen Street to Hoang Hoa Tham Street) has been completed and put into operation.

In addition, the 4-lane overpass in front of Terminal T3 has also been completed.

Since its inauguration, this road has opened a new direction of travel from Phan Thuc Duyen Street to Cong Hoa, helping to reduce traffic pressure at Lang Cha Ca roundabout and Cong Hoa Street.

Currently, the remaining part of the Tran Quoc Hoan - Cong Hoa connecting road (from Hoang Hoa Tham Street to Truong Chinh Street) is still waiting for site clearance for further construction.

According to Mr. Luong Minh Phuc - Director of the Ho Chi Minh City Traffic Construction Investment Project Management Board (Traffic Board - investor), this section has been constructed at about 78%.

Mr. Luong Minh Phuc said that the site handover schedule is an important factor determining the project's progress. Currently, 12/68 households have not yet handed over the land.

According to Mr. Luong Minh Phuc, Tan Binh District People's Committee is committed to completing the handover of the site before February 20, 2025. As soon as there is enough site, contractors will speed up the construction progress to open the entire route before April 20, 2025.

After completion, the route will connect directly to the T3 terminal of Tan Son Nhat airport (expected to be operated on April 30, 2025), creating a new access to the airport and reducing pressure on the main entrance on Truong Son street.

In addition to speeding up the construction progress of the Tran Quoc Hoan - Cong Hoa connecting road, the Traffic Committee also requested the People's Committee of Tan Binh District to urgently complete the A41 canal renovation project.

This is an important project to help connect the project's drainage system, ensuring drainage capacity for Tan Son Nhat airport area and terminal T3, avoiding flooding.
