1,776 pigs infected with banned substances, African swine fever
On August 11, the Department of Agriculture and Environment of Dong Nai City said that it had transferred the file to the Investigation Police Agency of Dong Nai City Police related to the case of detecting pigs contaminated with banned substances and African swine fever.
Accordingly, from July 28 - August 5, the Department of Agriculture and Environment chaired and coordinated with the Ho Chi Minh City Police, Tri An Ward People's Committee, Dau Giay Ward to inspect and discover that Ms. N.T. L.H - owner of business household L.H and owner of a livestock farm (Vinh An 2 neighborhood, Tri An ward) used banned substances to raise 10 pigs at a facility collecting and raising 209 pigs (both weighing from 120 to 150kg/pig) with quantitative results exceeding the permissible limit with Salbutamol belonging to the Beta-agonist group.
Mr. N.V.H, owner of a livestock farm (Lo 25 neighborhood, Dau Giay ward) used banned substances to raise 490/715 pigs (weighing from 120 to 130kg/pig) with quantitative results exceeding the permissible limit with Salbutamol belonging to the Beta-agonist group, some pigs in the barn were also infected with African swine fever.
Ms. N.H. T. T, owner of a livestock farm (Lo 25 neighborhood, Dau Giay ward) used banned substances to raise 1,067 pigs (weighing from 120 to 130kg/pig) with quantitative results exceeding the permissible limit with Salbutamol belonging to the Beta-agonist group.
According to the Department of Agriculture and Environment of Dong Nai City, individuals who do not register to declare livestock breeding, purchase pigs from 90 to 100 kg and then use banned substances in livestock breeding (Beta-agonist group) mixed with pellets to feed pigs to help pigs gain weight quickly and sell for profit.
Considering that the case shows signs of violating food safety regulations and the dangerous nature of the group of subjects using banned substances in animal husbandry (Beta-agonist group) to feed pigs to gain rapid weight for profit, causing food insecurity and affecting consumer health; the Department of Agriculture and Environment transferred the above 3 dossiers to the Investigation Police Agency of Dong Nai City Police to receive dossiers for handling according to legal regulations.
Coordinate with the Investigation Police Agency of Ho Chi Minh City Police to provide documents
Regarding the above incident, on August 10, the Investigation Police Agency of Dong Nai City Police responded.
Accordingly, through studying dossiers and documents, the Investigation Police Agency of Dong Nai City Police found that the dossier transferred by the Department of Agriculture and Environment of Dong Nai City is currently in the process of resolving crime information from the Investigation Police Agency of Ho Chi Minh City Police.
On August 6, the Investigation Police Agency of Ho Chi Minh City Police issued a document requesting the Department of Agriculture and Environment of Dong Nai City to provide dossiers and documents on state management work; the process of inspection and handling of violating livestock facilities, and at the same time coordinate handling of exhibits that are pigs contaminated with banned substance Salbutamol and African swine fever according to regulations.
From the above basis, the Investigation Police Agency of Dong Nai City Police transferred the case file and requested the Department of Agriculture and Environment of Dong Nai City to coordinate with the Investigation Police Agency of Ho Chi Minh City Police to provide the file and handle exhibits according to regulations.
Representatives of the Department of Agriculture and Environment of Dong Nai City said that in the afternoon of August 11, the unit will continue to work with the Investigation Police Agency of Ho Chi Minh City Police on the above content.
