Dong Nai - The City Sub-Department of Livestock and Fisheries coordinates with functional agencies to temporarily seize 1,782 pork units suspected of testing positive for the banned substance Salbutamol.

On July 30, the Sub-Department of Livestock and Fisheries of Dong Nai city coordinated with functional agencies to discover 2 more pig farms suspected of testing positive for the banned substance Salbutamol; and at the same time temporarily seized exhibits for Mr. N.V.H (51 years old, residing in Lo 25 neighborhood, Dau Giay ward, Dong Nai city) a quantity of 715 fattening pigs weighing about 120kg - 130kg/ and temporarily seized exhibits for Ms. N.H. T. T (37 years old, residing in Lo 25 neighborhood, Dau Giay ward, Dong Nai city), a quantity of 1,067 fattening pigs, weighing about 120 kg to 130 kg/pig of the pig farm.

According to a representative of the Dong Nai City Sub-Department of Livestock and Aquaculture, after taking quick samples for testing, it was discovered that pigs at these 2 farms were positive for the banned substance Salbutamol, so they were temporarily detained; and samples were sent to Ho Chi Minh City for testing to quantify and wait for treatment results.

Previously, on July 26, the Rach Chiec Traffic Police Team working group under the Traffic Police Department (PC08) of Ho Chi Minh City Police coordinated with the Ho Chi Minh City quarantine force to inspect and handle on the route under their responsibility and discovered 2 trucks with license plates carrying 201 pigs traveling from Dong Nai city to Dong Hoa ward, Ho Chi Minh City for slaughter. Quick testing, the batch of 201 pigs mentioned above gave positive results for the banned substance Salbutamol.

After grasping the above information, on July 28, the Sub-Department of Livestock and Fisheries of Dong Nai city established a team to verify the case of 201 pigs testing positive for the banned substance Salbutamol mentioned above and discovered a warehouse owner (transit point, collecting pigs before exporting) in KP7, Vinh An town, Vinh Cuu district (now Tri An ward, Dong Nai city). After conducting rapid sampling, all 10 pigs in this warehouse tested positive for the banned substance Salbutamol.

From this transfer point, the team continued to trace the origin and determined that there were 2 pig farms nearby also in Tri An ward, Dong Nai city. Initially, determining that 1 farm was empty, and 1 farm had 209 pigs, the team took 4 urine samples for rapid testing, all positive for the banned substance Salbutamol.
