Provincial Road 158 is a backbone route running from A Mu Sung and A Lu communes to the Y Ty highland tourist commune of the old Bat Xat district, Lao Cai province.
To facilitate people's travel and synchronize traffic infrastructure, the project to renovate and upgrade Provincial Road 156 section Ban Vuoc - Ngoi Phat and Provincial Road 158 section Ngai Thau - A Mu Sung in Bat Xat district has been implemented.
Of which, the section from A Mu Sung to Ngai Thau belongs to package No. 13 invested by the Lao Cai Provincial Traffic Construction Investment Project Management Board with a capital of more than 99 billion VND.
The construction unit is a joint venture of Viet Duc Anh Investment and Development Company Limited - Lao Cai Bridge Construction Joint Stock Company. The project started in December 2023 and is expected to be completed in 2025.
On July 11, when present at the above route, according to the reporter of Lao Dong Newspaper, after a period of being stopped due to the impact of storms and floods, this route is now in the process of construction again.
In addition to the renovation of Provincial Road 158, leading to this mountainous tourist commune, there is also a project to upgrade Ban Xeo - Den Sang - Y Ty road with a total length of 33.58 km, starting at Can Ty intersection, ending at the intersection with Trinh Tuong - Y Ty road.
Based on the existing old road, the upgrading and expansion of the route is designed to ensure the scale of a grade V mountainous road. The minimum roadbed width is 6.5m; the road surface width is 3.5m, paved with asphalt concrete; the sidewalk width is 3m.
The project has a total investment of 200 billion VND from the central and local budgets.
The Bat Xat District Construction Investment Project Management Board is the investor's representative, starting construction in early 2022, the contractor is XD Cao Minh Company Limited.
According to the record, the road has now completed the asphalt paving in many sections and is accelerating, taking advantage of the sunny days to soon put the project into use.
Also one of the important infrastructure routes, the Y Ty tourism subdivision investment project in Sa Pa National Tourist Area, part of Group B project; is a level IV traffic project with a length of 4 km. The starting point of the route is at Km36+500, the end point of the route is at Km40+500 Provincial Road 158.
The project is invested by the People's Committee of Bat Xat district with a total investment of 80 billion VND, of which the investment capital from the central budget with targeted support for the period 2021-2025 is 72 billion VND; the concentrated budget for the period 2021-2025 is 8 billion VND.
In early July, despite foggy and rainy weather, many workers and machines are still working hard to complete the project.
Sharing with Lao Dong Newspaper reporter, Mr. Nguyen Van Tai - Chairman of the People's Committee of the new Y Ty Commune, Lao Cai Province said: "After merging with A Lu Commune, the local area has now become significantly larger. Although Y Ty is a border commune, it has a lot of potential to develop tourism in a cool climate with the typical culture of ethnic minorities.
The state's attention to investing in transport infrastructure is important when attracting tourists to explore, experience and help people travel more conveniently and safely".
According to Mr. Nguyen Van Tai, important traffic projects leading to Y Ty commune will be basically completed in 2025, at the latest by early 2026.
