On the afternoon of December 18, according to information from the People's Committee of Phuc Khanh commune, representatives of 3 households of victims in the flash flood that occurred in the early morning of September 10 submitted a petition to the local government asking not to receive houses in the Nu Village resettlement area.
The reason the above 3 cases did not receive the house is because the family is eligible for support, but has lost all relatives, has no one to live there, and the family has no need to use it, so they would like to give it up to people in more difficult circumstances.
Among them, Ms. Nguyen Thi Sanh (born in 2000), daughter of Mr. Nguyen Van Tran, wrote a letter refusing to receive the house because her entire family died in the flash flood on September 10. Also in a similar situation, Mr. Nguyen Xuan Duong, son of Mr. Nguyen Van Dong, asked not to receive a resettlement house for his family because his entire family died in this natural disaster.
In the case of Ms. Sam Thi Nhien (born in 1998) - daughter-in-law of Mr. Nguyen Van Su - also refused to accept the house because her father-in-law's family had no survivors after the flood.
Previously, the Nu Village resettlement area was started by Army Corps 12 on September 21 and completed on December 15 after 68 days of construction efforts.
At the handover ceremony on December 15, 33/40 houses were given to families who lost their homes in the flash flood, the remaining 7 houses are awaiting opinions from all levels to be arranged for policy households, meritorious people or households facing more difficulties.
