Workers go through the ceremony to "keep the fire" of the expressway worth more than 44,000 billion VND
The Chau Doc - Can Tho - Soc Trang expressway project (phase 1) is 188.2km long, with a total investment of more than 44,691 billion VND, with 4 component projects. Of which, the section through An Giang province is more than 57km, and the rest belongs to Can Tho City, about 132km.

Recorded by Lao Dong Newspaper reporters at construction package No. 2 of component project 3 (Can Tho section), during the holidays, the unit maintained construction throughout the holidays, mobilizing a lot of manpower and equipment to simultaneously deploy items.
Mr. Nguyen Van Toan - Representative of a construction unit said that to date, the bidding package under the unit's responsibility has reached about 53% of the volume, mobilizing 20 construction teams with about 450 officials, engineers, and workers working at the construction site. The goal is to basically complete the sand filling loading work in each segment by June 30, 2026.


Worker Luong Van Ngan (former Binh Dinh province) shared that for him, the progress of the project is always put first, because every day of sticking to the construction site is another step to bring the project to the finish line on schedule. Teams maintain continuous construction, arranging many shifts to ensure the progress of items, especially tasks such as pouring and installing bridge railing.
Worker Duong Van Thang said that not only during the April 30th holiday, but also during the past time, contractors have maintained construction throughout Tet and weekends to closely monitor progress, while ensuring full benefits for workers.

Mr. Vang Dac Duy Tan - Deputy Director of the Can Tho City Traffic and Agricultural Construction Investment Project Management Board (project investor) informed that currently, the bridge section on the route has been basically completed; for the road section, some sections have met the load discharge conditions. On that basis, the investor directed contractors to focus on constructing foundations and road surfaces, and at the same time complete the overloading work at the remaining sections.
The starting point of the expressway project in An Giang, under the scorching sun, dozens of workers and engineers of the Truong Son 11 Management Board are still urgently paving every meter of asphalt.


After finishing the C19 and C16 asphalt layers, then completing the traffic safety system, lighting, taluy, median strip... these tasks will be implemented in a rolling manner.
Talking to reporters, Mr. Tran Minh Thanh - Deputy Head of the Steering Committee of Truong Son 11 said that the unit in charge of construction in package 42, the progress has been over 76%, exceeding 0.11% compared to the plan.

According to the contractor, there are more than 180 machinery and equipment on the construction site, over 220 technical staff, workers, and laborers working throughout the holiday to meet the items being implemented such as load removal, crushed stone base, asphalt concrete paving...
No vacation at Dai Ngai 1 bridge construction site
During the holiday, construction continues to be recorded at Dai Ngai 1 bridge, located on National Highway 60, across the Hau River estuary, connecting Can Tho with Vinh Long. The bridge has an investment of nearly 4,000 billion VND.

The project started on October 2023 and will be completed in June 2028. To date, the project progress has reached nearly 70% of the contract value. Currently, the investor and the construction unit have simultaneously deployed 33 construction fronts including Dai Ngai 1 bridge, roadbed and route works. The total number of personnel mobilized is over 350 people and 122 locomotives and equipment.
Mr. Nguyen Thanh Sang - a construction worker at the bridge pier shared that when seeing everyone resting during the holiday, he also could not avoid feeling sad. However, above all, it is still pride to contribute to a key project in the area.



For me, every working day during the holidays is of special significance, because it is not only an effort for the collective but also a practical contribution to the future development of transport infrastructure," said Mr. Thanh Sang.
Representatives of the contractor consortium informed that package No. 15-XL has a total of 24 construction teams, including: 8 teams constructing platforms, pillars, beams, reinforced concrete slabs and embankments; 2 teams constructing bridgehead roads (routes); 4 teams constructing beams, steel beams and cable-stayed cables; 7 teams constructing the main bridge pillar base. Participating forces include 47 technical staff, 253 workers and 77 machines and equipment. To date, the accumulated construction output of package No. 15-XL has reached 61.98%.
