Thu Thiem - Long Thanh Metro
Thu Thiem - Long Thanh Metro is about 47.7 km long, passing through Ho Chi Minh City and Dong Nai, connecting the central area with Long Thanh International Airport.
The entire route is planned with 18 stations, including 2 underground stations and 16 elevated stations. In the initial phase, Ho Chi Minh City proposed to invest in 14 stations.
From Thu Thiem station, the elevated route passes through Binh Trung, Long Truong, running parallel to the Ho Chi Minh City - Long Thanh - Dau Giay expressway, then crosses the Dong Nai River in the area on the left side of Nhon Trach bridge.
To Dong Nai, the line continues along Ring Road 3, through Road 25B, National Highway 51 and Bien Hoa - Vung Tau expressway, before going underground into the planned railway area of Long Thanh airport and ending at Cam Duong depot.
The preliminary total investment is about 134,000 billion VND, expected to be implemented in the form of BT (build - transfer).
The project aims to be completed by 2030, expecting to create a large volume transport axis, significantly shortening travel time from the center of Ho Chi Minh City to Long Thanh airport.
Ring Road 4 HCMC
Ho Chi Minh City is expected to start construction of 2 component projects under Ring Road 4 of Ho Chi Minh City according to PPP method, BOT contract.
In which, component project 2-1 to build the expressway section from Toc Tien - Chau Pha intersection to Chau Duc bridge (including Chau Duc bridge at the border with Dong Nai) has a total capital of 4,776 billion VND.
Component project 2-3 to build the expressway section from the Saigon River to the Thay Cai canal (including Phu Thuan bridge across the Saigon River and Thay Cai bridge across the Thay Cai canal) has a total capital of 7,050 billion VND.
Ring Road 4 HCMC is about 207 km long, passing through HCMC, Dong Nai and Tay Ninh. After HCMC merged with Binh Duong and Ba Ria - Vung Tau, the section through HCMC is nearly 83 km long, becoming the longest section on the entire route.
The entire project has a total investment of more than 120,400 billion VND. Phase 1, the route is invested with 4 expressway lanes, design speed of 100 km/h; site clearance is on a scale of 8 lanes to create land fund for expansion later.
Expected to be completed in 2028, Ring Road 4 will become a strategic traffic axis connecting Ho Chi Minh City with the Southeast, Southwest and Central Highlands, while strengthening the connection of Long Thanh airport, seaport system and inter-regional traffic routes.
National Highway 13 expansion
Component project 2 to upgrade and expand National Highway 13 (section from Binh Trieu bridge to Vinh Binh bridge) has a total capital of 6,276 billion VND according to PPP method, BOT contract.
National Highway 13 will be expanded to about 60 m, 2-3 times the existing width of 19 - 27 m.
The highlight is the section of about 3.5 km from Binh Loi intersection to Binh Phuoc intersection where a 4-lane elevated road is built. Below is a parallel road with 8 - 10 lanes wide.
The project has 10 intersections. In the area under Binh Loi and Binh Phuoc viaducts, underpasses are built to reduce conflicts between vehicle flows.
Expected to be completed by the end of 2028, the project is expected to increase traffic flow capacity and solve traffic bottlenecks at the Northeast gateway of Ho Chi Minh City.
National Highway 1 expansion
Component project 3 to upgrade and expand National Highway 1 (section from Kinh Duong Vuong to the border of Tay Ninh province) has a total capital of 6,674 billion VND according to PPP method, BOT contract.
The 9.62 km long section, passing through Tan Tao, An Lac, Binh Dong wards and Tan Nhut commune, has been expanded to 60 m, with a scale of 10-12 lanes.
In which, the main route has 6-8 lanes, design speed of 80 km/h; parallel roads are arranged on both sides with 4 lanes, speed of 60 km/h.
Two existing Binh Dien bridges are utilized, and a 6-lane bridge unit is built.
Binh Thuan, Tan Kien intersections and Ben Luc - Long Thanh expressway are upgraded synchronously; new grade-separated intersections are built at Kinh Duong Vuong and Doan Nguyen Tuan street.
A 4-lane overpass on National Highway 1 will be built to cross the Kinh Duong Vuong and Tran Dai Nghia axes.
The project is expected to be completed by the end of 2028, contributing to increasing transport capacity on National Highway 1, effectively connecting with Ring Road 2, Ring Road 3 and Ring Road 4, thereby completing the inter-regional transport network in the South.
