Ho Chi Minh City - Moc Bai Expressway
The Ho Chi Minh City - Moc Bai expressway project is nearly 51 km long, starting at Ring Road 3 (Cu Chi district) and ending at Ben Cau district (Tay Ninh).
In the first phase, the expressway will be built with 4 lanes and 2 emergency lanes, but the land will be cleared to a scale of 6 lanes to facilitate future expansion.
The project has a total investment of more than 19,600 billion VND, of which the expressway part is invested in the form of BOT (build - operate - transfer) with a total capital of more than 10,400 billion VND, expected to start construction in January 2026 and complete in December 2027.
Another component project to build a service road and overpass with an investment capital of more than VND2,420 billion from the budget will be implemented from August 2025 to April 2027.
Once completed, the Ho Chi Minh City - Moc Bai Expressway will not only reduce the load on National Highway 22, but also create the shortest connection route between Ho Chi Minh City and Cambodia through Moc Bai border gate, promoting international trade.
Expanding National Highway 22
National Highway 22, from An Suong intersection (District 12) to Ring Road 3 (Hoc Mon district), will be expanded to 60 m with 10 lanes, combined with the construction of overpasses at important intersections.
The project has a total investment of about 8,400 billion VND in the form of BOT, expected to be implemented in the period 2025 - 2028.
When completed, the route will significantly improve transport capacity between Ho Chi Minh City and Tay Ninh.
Truong Chinh - Cong Hoa Elevated Road
Another notable project is the Truong Chinh - Cong Hoa elevated road, 11.2 km long with 4 lanes, running from An Suong intersection to Tan Son Nhat airport area.
The project has a total capital of nearly 12,000 billion VND, implemented in the form of public-private partnership (PPP), in which the state budget accounts for 50%.
The elevated route mainly utilizes the median strip between Truong Chinh and Cong Hoa streets, helping to reduce site clearance costs.
The project is expected to be implemented in the 2025 - 2028 period, helping to reduce traffic pressure and improve connectivity between the Northwest region and the airport.
Expanding Truong Chinh Street
Currently, Truong Chinh Street from An Suong intersection to Cong Hoa Street has 10 lanes, but the section from Cong Hoa to Au Co has only 4 lanes, creating a "bottleneck" causing serious traffic jams.
To overcome this problem, the Department of Transport proposed to widen this road from the current 10-12 m to 60 m, with a total investment of about 4,500 billion VND. Of which, the cost of site clearance accounts for about 1,750 billion VND.
The project is expected to be implemented in the period 2025 - 2028, helping to make the route more open.
Tan Ky - Tan Quy Expansion
Tan Ky - Tan Quy route, from Cong Hoa street to Le Trong Tan street, 636 m long, is currently only 8 m wide, causing traffic difficulties.
According to plan, the road will be expanded to 30 meters, enough for 6 lanes of traffic, with a total investment of 1,600 billion VND.
The project is expected to be implemented in the 2025 - 2028 period. When completed, it will significantly improve traffic in the Northwest area of Ho Chi Minh City.
