According to the Government Electronic Information Portal, in 2025, the transport sector plans to start construction on 6 large-scale expressway projects with complex technical requirements.
These 6 projects include:
1. Investment project to build Cho Moi - Bac Kan route:
The project's starting point connects Thai Nguyen - Cho Moi highway, Cho Moi district, Bac Kan province; the project's end point connects Bac Kan - Cao Bang highway, Bac Kan city, Bac Kan province.
The total length of the project route is about 28.8 km, of which the Cho Moi - Bac Kan expressway is about 28.4 km long; the connecting section is about 0.4 km long. The total investment of the project is 5,750 billion VND, invested by the State budget.
2. North-South Expressway expansion project, Eastern section, Cao Bo - Mai Son:
The project's starting point connects with the Cau Gie - Ninh Binh expressway in Yen Bang commune, Y Yen district, Nam Dinh province; the end point connects with the Mai Son - National Highway 45 construction investment component project in Mai Son commune, Yen Mo district, Ninh Binh province.
This project, which is approximately 15.245km long, will invest in expanding 2 lanes on the left side of the existing road, with a roadbed width of 15.25m (ensuring a completed scale of 6 lanes, roadbed width of 32.25m). The total investment for the project is 1,875,616 billion VND, funded from the State budget.
3. North-South Expressway expansion project, Eastern section, Cam Lo - La Son:
The project has a route length of about 98.35 km, following the Cam Lo - La Son expressway (Quang Tri - Thua Thien Hue) currently in operation.
The project invests in expanding the roadbed, road surface and works on the route from 2 lanes to 4 lanes. This is a Group A project, invested in the form of public investment. The total investment of the project is about 6,488 billion VND from the state budget.
4. North-South Expressway expansion project, Eastern section, La Son - Hoa Lien:
The project connects Cam Lo - La Son expressway with the starting point of Hoa Lien - Tuy Loan route, located in Hoa Lien commune, Hoa Vang district, Da Nang city. The route length is about 65 km.
The project is implemented with investment to expand the cross-section with 4 complete lanes, roadbed width of 22 m, road surface width of 20.5 m. The total investment of the project is 3,010 billion VND invested by the State budget.
5. Investment project for construction of My An - Cao Lanh expressway phase 1:
The project has a route length of about 26.6 km; the starting point connects with route N2 at about Km 96+875 in My An town, Thap Muoi district, Dong Thap province; the end point is at An Binh intersection (Cao Lanh bridgehead), in Cao Lanh district, Dong Thap province. The total investment of the project is 6,127,819 billion VND.
6. Investment project to build Dau Giay - Tan Phu expressway phase 1:
The project is implemented under the PPP method with the starting point at the intersection with National Highway 1, connecting with Ho Chi Minh City - Long Thanh - Dau Giay Expressway, located in Dau Giay town, Thong Nhat district, Dong Nai province; the end point connects with the Tan Phu (Dong Nai) - Bao Loc (Lam Dong) Expressway Construction Project, located in Phu Trung commune, Tan Phu district, Dong Nai province. The total length of the project is about 60.24 km.
The total investment of the project is 8,981,539 billion VND, of which the capital mobilized by investors is about 7,681,539 billion VND.
It is estimated that the total investment capital for the above 6 expressway projects is more than 32,200 billion VND.
