The Dong Dang - Tra Linh Expressway project has a total length of 121 km, divided into two investment phases. In phase 1, the Dong Dang - Tra Linh Expressway is invested with a length of more than 93 km, starting at the Tan Thanh Border Gate intersection, Van Lang district (Lang Son), and ending at the National Highway 3 intersection in Chi Thao commune, Quang Hoa district (Cao Bang). The highlight of the project is the two tunnels through the mountains of Dong Khe and That Khe.
Phase 1 of the project has a total investment of 14,167 billion VND, invested by the consortium of Deo Ca Group Joint Stock Company - ICV Vietnam Investment and Construction Joint Stock Company - Deo Ca Transport Infrastructure Investment Joint Stock Company - Construction Joint Stock Company 568. Phase 1 is expected to be opened to traffic in 2025 and completed in 2026.
In Thach An district (Cao Bang), there are 2 priority construction sites: km66+500, Don Lap village, Le Lai commune and tunnel 2 - km72, Thuy Hung commune. These construction sites have a lot of workers and high-capacity machinery.
With 99% of the land in Cao Bang province, contractors actively and urgently constructed with the spirit of "overcoming the sun, overcoming the rain", "3 shifts, 4 crews", mobilizing more than 1,000 personnel and over 370 machines and equipment to deploy 26 construction points in all categories of roads, bridges, tunnels, and culverts.
Currently, Dong Khe tunnel has opened both tunnels, 3 months ahead of schedule. The contractor is pouring concrete for the tunnel lining, creating the roadbed inside the tunnel and installing equipment.
Having worked with Deo Ca Group for more than 2 years on large and small projects, Mr. Nguyen Van Thanh (from Ha Trung district, Thanh Hoa province) shared: "Every year, the group takes good care of the workers, so even though they have to be away from home and work through Tet, everyone is still very excited."
According to Mr. Thanh, on the first day of Tet this year, some workers are taking a temporary break, on the second day of Tet, everyone will return to their old work rhythm.
After more than 2 years away from home during Tet, putting aside the joy of family reunion during the New Year, Mr. Thanh is a bit proud that his wife has taken care of everything for his 3 children at home.
Besides the encouragement from Deo Ca Group and his wife and children in his hometown, local leaders also regularly care for and encourage workers working directly at the construction site.
Previously, on January 24-25, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Hoang Xuan Anh and Secretary of the Cao Bang Provincial Party Committee Quan Minh Cuong visited, encouraged and gave gifts to workers who worked through Tet.
Cao Bang provincial leaders all acknowledged and commended the investor and contractor for their efforts in the construction process, ensuring the progress of the expressway project.
"In the last days of the year, our employees worked very urgently, following the spirit of 'overcoming the sun and overcoming the rain' initiated by the Prime Minister. The company also encouraged workers to stay and work through Tet to strive to open the route by the end of 2025.
Regarding the workers' lives during Tet, what is at home is the same at the construction site. We organize Chung cake wrapping, peach blossoms, kumquats and traditional Tet dishes so that our brothers can enjoy the spring but not forget their duties, trying to keep up with the set schedule," said the investor representative.
