On September 16, the Mobile Police Department, Quang Tri Provincial Police said that in the face of complicated weather developments, the unit has proactively prepared forces, vehicles and equipment to respond to natural disasters, rescue and relief.
Equipment includes life jackets, life buoys and specialized vehicles. Officers and soldiers are equipped with protective equipment, ready to deploy tasks to support people when requested.
Along with preparation work, through surveys at Nhat Le beach, Dong Hoi ward, functional forces recorded many waste, branches, and rotten firewood drifting ashore.
The grassroots union of the Mobile Police Department mobilized 60 union members and youth to collect garbage and clean up the area in front of Hoa Hong Guest House and Nhat Le beach.
The activity aims to contribute to ensuring environmental sanitation, preserving the beach landscape, and at the same time promoting the role of union members and youth of the People's Police in community activities.
Previously, Lao Dong Newspaper reported that after days of heavy rain, many sections of Nhat Le beach appeared with large amounts of trees, branches and garbage drifting ashore.
Along the sandbar, many branches and wooden bodies are laid in layers stretching. Interspersed with wooden firewood are plastic bottles, styrofoam boxes, nylon bags and household waste. In some locations, wooden trees and waste are concentrated in piles close to the water's edge.
Mr. Dang Ngoc Hung - Director of the General Service Center of Dong Hoi ward said that due to the impact of prolonged heavy rains and water from upstream, dozens of tons of garbage and rotten wood have drifted and sunk into Nhat Le beach.
Faced with this situation, the Dong Hoi Ward General Service Center has implemented a handling plan, and at the same time prepared a submission requesting financial support to mobilize cranes, mechanical vehicles and labor to collect and transport garbage and wood.
