The Department of Industry and Trade will coordinate with An Giang Power Company to have a temporary plan to ensure power supply to Phu Quoc special zone during the handling of the incident of a 110 kV Ha Tien - Phu Quoc overseas underground cable.
As reported, at 1:45 p.m. on November 29, a 110kV line 173 Ha Tien - 172 Phu Quoc incident occurred, supplying power to the 110kV Phu Quoc transformer station, causing power outages in the areas of Duong Dong, Cua Can, Cua Duong, Ham Ninh and the entire area north of the island. As soon as the incident occurred, An Giang Power Company leveled the supply so that Phu Quoc special zone could receive electricity from the 110kV Nam Phu Quoc transformer station via the 22kV medium voltage grid. Mobilize large customers with self-operating generators to supply electricity to take advantage of the remaining capacity to serve households, arrange mobile generators to supply alternating electricity.
Up to now, there are still areas that have not been supplied with electricity, including: Cua Duong, Ganh Dau, Bai Thom and Cua Can with about 12,000 customers (25%) without power due to inadequate supply capacity and due to the long power supply distance from the South Island to the North Island.
An Giang Power Company has urgently organized an inspection of the 110kV underground section crossing the Ha Tien - Phu Quoc sea. Thereby, it is noted that Thuan Thanh KG Construction Design Consulting Co., Ltd. is constructing a railing in the safety corridor of the 110kV Ha Tien - Phu Quoc underground cable line on the Ha Tien coast. According to initial records, the forced strengthening of the steel piles on the taxiway was the cause of the incident in the 110kV underground cable section supplying electricity to Phu Quoc special area.
