The water level of Ba Thon canal, the section passing through An Phu Dong ward, suddenly rose, causing water to flood many houses along TL37 road. The incident happened quickly, in just a few minutes, the water was almost half a motorbike's wheel, causing great difficulties for people's daily life and travel, and at the same time posing potential risks to safety, hygiene and electrical safety.

Recorded on the afternoon of November 11, the water level remained high, ranging from 40-60 cm in the residential area along TL37. People in alleys on TL37, TL41 routes... are rushing to clean up and treat floodwaters.

Mr. Mai Thanh Tuan, a resident of Quarter 57 (An Phu Dong Ward) shared about the difficult response night: "We stayed up all night to cope with the rising water. Outside the alley, there are places that are flooded up to 1m, the workers' children cannot go to school, and many adults also have to take a day off work. Fortunately, the militia promptly arranged pumps to help the water recede faster.
In response to the flood discharge of Dau Tieng Lake causing local flooding in some areas, An Phu Dong Ward (formerly District 12) has urgently deployed many response measures from last night to today (November 11), to ensure the safety of people and property.

Discussing the support work, Mr. Nguyen Chi Thien, Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of An Phu Dong Ward, said that the locality has carried out many parallel tasks to cope with the flooding situation.
As soon as the information about the flood discharge was received, the ward promptly notified the neighborhoods so that people could proactively prepare and move their belongings to higher ground.
The entire militia force of the ward has been mobilized to be ready 24/7. In addition, forces in the neighborhood, including the Front, mass organizations and youth, were also mobilized to participate in support.

This force's main task is to help people build sandbags to reinforce the dike in vulnerable areas and directly support the movement of people's belongings and assets to higher ground.
Last night until this morning (November 11), some areas in the area recorded local flooding. The ward has taken advantage of the advantage of having an Irrigation Service Management Company located in the area to closely coordinate. During the night and this morning, pumps were deployed promptly to heavily flooded areas to pump water out of the river, minimizing damage to people.
Regarding the situation forecast, Mr. Thien said: "It is likely that tonight, when the Ba Thon sluice gate will be closed, the level of flooding will not be much anymore".

However, the ward's forces will still be on duty. Pumping machinery and equipment are also maintained ready through close coordination with the Irrigation Company to support residential areas when flooded.
Mr. Thien added that the ward currently does not have official statistics on the number of affected households, but flooding only occurs in the cluster around Ba Thon canal. The ward leaders pledged to be present immediately to support the people when any demand arose.
