The official dispatch of the Ministry of Construction emphasized that according to the forecast of the National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting, the tropical depression has strengthened into a storm (storm No. 8).
It is forecasted that storm No. 8 will enter the southern coastal area of Guangdong province (China), continue to move rapidly in the Northwest direction, traveling about 15km/h per hour, and continue to strengthen, with the strongest wind near the storm center at level 9, gusting to level 11.
The Ministry of Construction issued a telegram directing its affiliated units to seriously and urgently implement measures to respond to storm No. 8, ensure safety for ships and vehicles at sea and proactively rescue plans when necessary.
The Ministry of Construction requested the Vietnam Maritime and Waterways Administration to monitor the developments and direction of storm No. 8 to notify and guide ships when granting a license to leave port.
The Ministry of Construction requested the Vietnam Maritime Information Company Limited to direct the coastal information station system to closely monitor, update and immediately handle information about the location, developments and direction of storm No. 8.
At the same time, promptly notify vehicles and captains of ships operating at sea to proactively avoid, escape or not move into the danger zone.
The Vietnam Maritime and Waterway Administration is assigned to direct the Maritime and Inland Waterways Departments to continuously monitor the developments and direction of storm No. 8 to notify and guide ships when granting a license to leave the port.
Units must strictly count and manage their activities at sea, maintain regular contact with ships in the storm-affected areas, including transport ships and tourist ships, to promptly handle possible bad situations.
In addition, the Vietnam Maritime Search and Rescue Coordination Center must prepare forces and means to participate in rescue when there is an order.
The Ministry of Construction requires relevant agencies and units to organize 24/7 on-duty and regularly report the situation to the Civil Defense Command of the Ministry of Construction.
