On April 5, the People's Committee of Ba Ria - Vung Tau province said that regarding the development of plans to rearrange and reorganize commune-level administrative units in the area, the People's Committee at the district level has submitted a proposal to the Department of Home Affairs.
The whole province is expected to be arranged into a total of 32 wards, communes and specialties of Con Dao. Of which, Vung Tau City proposed to establish 5 wards; Ba Ria City proposed to establish 3 wards; Phu My City proposed to establish 7 wards.
Chau Duc will establish 6 communes; Long Dat district will establish 4 communes; Xuyen Moc district will establish 7 communes; together with Con Dao, it will become a special area.
Mr. Dang Minh Thong - Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee - said that according to this plan, the rate of reducing the number of commune-level units is about 58.5%. Currently, the Provincial People's Committee has directed the Department of Home Affairs to complete the draft plan and submit it to the Provincial Party Committee Standing Committee for approval before April 9.
At the same time, draft a draft project and submit it to the Provincial Party Committee Standing Committee before April 17. Then continue to complete the steps according to regulations to submit to the Government the project to reorganize commune-level administrative units before May 1, 2025.
