On October 30, the Bac Lieu Housing and Land Fund Development Center said that the land located at the corner of Tran Huynh - Le Duan Street (Ward 1, Bac Lieu City) is still managed by the state and has not been granted to any organization or individual.
This is a land area within the Bac Lieu Provincial Administrative Area planning which was planned in 1998. In 2010, to have a site to build a market (called Market A), invested by Minh Thang Company, Bac Lieu relocated traders to the temporary Tran Huynh market (also invested by Minh Thang Company) in Ward 1.
Tran Huynh temporary market has 98 small traders (of which 57 households sell cosmetics, and 41 households sell agricultural products and food).
After Bac Lieu market was completed, the relocation of traders from Tran Huynh temporary market to the new market was carried out in 2019. Since then, the entire land has been abandoned and overgrown with grass.
On May 7, 2021, the People's Committee of Bac Lieu province issued Decision No. 209/QD-UBND, locally adjusting the general planning of Bac Lieu city. According to this decision, the entire land area of more than 1 hectare is adjusted to be a high-class hotel complex of more than 3,699m2; housing and internal infrastructure, 5,544m2; traffic land, over 1,294m2.
Since the planning adjustment, the entire land area remains vacant and is calling for investment.
