The People's Committee of Bac Ninh province has just issued a decision on the establishment of the Construction Architecture Plan Competition Council: Construction of Van Ha bridge, connecting Van Ha commune, Viet Yen town, Bac Giang province (old) with Hoa Long ward, Bac Ninh city, Bac Ninh province (old).
The Chairman of the Council is Mr. Phan Dang Son - Chairman of the Vietnam Association of Architects. In addition, there are 10 Council members.
The architectural design competition council is responsible for evaluating and ranking the competition plan, helping the organizing unit select the optimal architectural plan, meeting the requirements of planning, architecture, culture, socio-economic efficiency, national defense, security and environmental protection for the construction design of the project; ensuring confidentiality, objectivity, honesty and no negative behavior affecting the results and evaluation of the ranking.
Previously, on September 10, 2024, when Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh and his delegation inspected the flood situation and flood response work in Van Ha commune, Viet Yen town, Bac Giang province (old), the people here petitioned the Prime Minister about building Van Ha bridge across Cau river connecting Bac Giang and Bac Ninh (old).
The Prime Minister has assigned the People's Committees of Bac Ninh and Bac Giang provinces to balance and allocate resources to build Van Ha bridge, calculating the design for possible expansion later.
On April 5, 2025, the Government Office issued Official Letter No. 2879/VPCP-CN conveying the direction of Central Party Committee member, Deputy Prime Minister Tran Hong Ha on assigning the governing body to implement the Van Ha bridge construction investment project.
Accordingly, it is expected that the Van Ha bridge project will start construction in 2025 and be completed in 2026, with a total investment of about 220 billion VND.
