Vice Chairman of Bac Ninh Provincial People's Committee Le Xuan Loi has just signed a decision approving the adjustment of investment policy for the project to build embankments to prevent riverbank and riverbank erosion from K21+600 - K22+800 of the right Duong dike, Dinh To area, now belonging to Tri Qua ward. The preliminary total investment after adjustment is 78 billion VND from the provincial budget.
Notably, along with the construction of a dyke line about 1,200m long, the plan to adjust and supplement the content of adjusting the dyke line in the landslide area from pile 0+350 to pile 0+625, bringing the line inside the riverbank about 0 - 40m. This is an area that has experienced complex landslides in the past, affecting production land, crops and posing a potential risk of unsafe banks and riverbanks.
According to the decision, the project to build a landslide prevention embankment line is about 1,200m long. The foot of the embankment is reinforced with loose-fired cobblestone; the embankment structure releases cobblestone to support the foot to create a lăng thể, the surface is arranged with cobblestone as thin paving.
The embankment roof is excavated with tarpaulin, built with reinforced concrete beam frames creating squares, inside paved with stone on a layer of crushed stone and geotechnical filter fabric. The top of the embankment combines with building a management road, arranging drainage ditches and steps up and down the embankment roof.
The project adjustment is carried out in the context that the right bank of the Duong River in Tri Qua ward once experienced complex landslides.
In November 2025, specialized agencies recorded a landslide arc about 70m long, encroaching 30 - 40m deep into the shore, creating a 20 - 30m high subsidence wall, causing damage to crops and plants of people. The cause was determined to be related to the impact of storms, rising river water levels, weak geology of the area and the impact of currents approaching the shore.
According to the recently approved plan, the project belongs to group C, grade III dyke works, invested by Bac Ninh Provincial Sub-Department of Irrigation, implemented in the period 2024 - 2027.
The Provincial People's Committee assigned the Department of Agriculture and Environment to direct the investor to urgently review and complete the project adjustment dossier; specifically identify design solutions, scale, volume and total investment, ensuring dike safety, stable banks and riverbanks, efficiency and economy.
