On March 9, at Quang Truc Commune People's Committee, the Steering Committee for Border Affairs of Lam Dong province coordinated with the Commune People's Committee to organize the handover ceremony of the Vietnam - Cambodia land border line and landmarks on the border line of Lam Dong province according to the administrative boundaries of border communes.
Speaking at the ceremony, Mr. Hoang Van Bang - Director of the Department of Foreign Affairs, Standing Deputy Head of the Steering Committee for Border Affairs of Lam Dong province - said: "This handover helps the border commune government fully grasp information about border lines and landmarks within the scope of commune-level management, thereby ensuring unity in border management and protection.

Each citizen in the border area needs to become a "livable milestone". Therefore, local Party committees and authorities need to promote the dissemination of the National Border Law and border management agreements and regulations, helping people understand that preserving the border is also protecting their homes, fields and their peaceful lives.
At the ceremony, the Steering Committee for Border Affairs of Lam Dong province and the People's Committee of Quang Truc commune signed a memorandum of handover of the border and land border marker system between Vietnam and Cambodia on the border line in the commune for local authorities to directly manage according to the new administrative boundaries.
According to the People's Committee of Quang Truc commune, the locality is a land border commune, so the task of managing and protecting border lines and landmarks is of particular importance. This is the basis for clearly defining the scope of state management, the responsibility of local authorities in protecting national territorial sovereignty. At the same time, it contributes to maintaining political security and social order and safety in the border area.
The People's Committee commits to continue to closely coordinate with functional forces, especially the Border Guard force, in the management and protection of border lines and landmarks.
