On the evening of September 3, the Ho Chi Minh City Traffic Construction Investment Project Management Board (Traffic Board) confirmed that a serious work accident occurred at the Ring Road 3 construction site, killing one worker and injuring another.
The incident occurred at around 4:30 p.m. the same day, at the construction site of Package XL5 of the Ho Chi Minh City Ring Road 3 project in the section passing through Long Binh ward, at the T300 - T301 pillar location. At that time, a crane collapsed while being dismantled to move out of the construction site.
The incident injured two workers in the dismantling group (belonging to the crane leasing unit). Although first aid was given, one worker died from severe injuries and the other is currently being treated at the hospital.
Immediately after the incident, the contractor and related units immediately mobilized ambulances and reported the incident to the authorities.
Currently, the investor, contractor and the supervision consulting unit are coordinating with the authorities to investigate, clarify the cause of the accident and handle it according to the provisions of law.
