The Ring Road 3 project through Ho Chi Minh City is over 47 km long, of which nearly 14 km through Thu Duc City (formerly) was designed as an elevated road with 4 lanes in phase 1. This route starts from the Ho Chi Minh City - Long Thanh - Dau Giay Expressway through Thu Duc City (formerly) and ends at the Tan Van intersection.

From a high observation angle, the overpass section of Ho Chi Minh City Ring Road 3 crossing Vinhomes Grand Park urban area (Long Binh ward) has gradually taken shape with many main items basically completed. In some sections, the girder banks are installed seamlessly, creating a synchronous, modern, and outstanding appearance in the rapidly developing urban space.
At the construction site, engineers and workers work continuously, simultaneously deploying many items from foundation, pillar to bridge piers and girder mounting. The project is organized in 3 shifts, 4 teams, to ensure the progress of the overpass section and be ready to move to the next construction phase.
According to the Ho Chi Minh City Traffic Construction Investment Project Management Board (Traffic Board), Ring Road 3 through Ho Chi Minh City has 10 construction packages, after more than 2 years of construction, it has reached 50% of the contract value. Of which, the elevated section from Ho Chi Minh City - Long Thanh - Dau Giay Expressway to Tan Van Intersection, 14.7km long, is designed with 4 lanes, currently the section with the fastest progress with 5 construction packages, reaching about 55% of output.

When put into operation, this elevated route will open a new route through Dong Nai, allowing people from Ho Chi Minh City to go from Tan Van intersection to the elevated Ring Road 3, then choose the route through Nhon Trach bridge to enter Ben Luc - Long Thanh expressway to Dong Nai, helping to significantly reduce pressure on the Ho Chi Minh City - Long Thanh - Dau Giay expressway, which is currently overloaded.
The remaining sections of Ring Road 3 passing through Cu Chi, Hoc Mon and Binh Chanh districts (formerly), with a total length of 32.6km, are also under urgent construction. Currently, the construction output in these areas has reached about 45%. The Traffic Department aims that by the end of 2025, most of the main items will reach more than 70% of the volume, ensuring conditions for technical traffic opening at the same time as December 31, 2025. And to put the entire Ho Chi Minh City Ring Road 3 (including parallel routes) into operation before April 30, 2026.
