On July 13, at the group 2 discussion session within the framework of the 4th session of the 19th Nghe An Provincial People's Council, delegate Nguyen Viet Hung - Chairman of the Nghe An Provincial Farmers' Association - raised concerns about the shortage of labor resources in many localities.
According to delegate Nguyen Viet Hung, the province's socio-economic report shows that the work of creating jobs, sending workers to work abroad and recruiting workers in industrial parks has all been achieved and exceeded the set plan.
However, in reality, at the grassroots level, there is a serious shortage of rural labor and labor in the construction sector.

The delegate said that if there are no early solutions to overcome this situation, this situation may directly affect the construction progress of works and projects in the area in the last 6 months of 2026.
From the above reality, delegate Nguyen Viet Hung requested the People's Committee of Nghe An province to direct relevant departments and branches to urgently accurately assess labor supply and demand, clarify the causes and study fundamental and long-term solutions.
Talking about this content, Mr. Nguyen Viet Hung - Director of the Department of Home Affairs of Nghe An province - said that the supply of general labor in the locality is still basically meeting demand.
However, recruitment and labor arrangement depend heavily on the specific requirements of each enterprise. In particular, the private enterprise sector and foreign-invested enterprises often set strict and specific recruitment standards and conditions.
According to the Director of the Department of Home Affairs, the specific requirements on age, skills, working hours, working style and production conditions of enterprises are issues that state management agencies find difficult to intervene directly.
Besides the content on labor, delegates also proposed that the province strengthen management and stabilize prices of essential goods and services; remove difficulties in consuming OCOP products; handle problems with public land and improve the capacity of commune-level officials after arranging administrative units.
Leaders of Nghe An Provincial People's Committee said that they will receive opinions, complete reports, and focus on directing departments and branches to implement tasks and solutions for socio-economic development in the last months of 2026.
