Report to Dong Nai Provincial Party Committee on the metro project connecting Long Thanh airport before April 5th

Dong Nai - The project to extend the Ben Thanh - Suoi Tien metro line to the Provincial Political - Administrative Center and Long Thanh airport is implemented from 2025 - 2029.

On March 24, Dong Nai Provincial People's Committee just issued an official dispatch to implement the conclusions of the Provincial Party Committee Standing Committee meeting (March 11, 2026).

In which, for the Ben Thanh - Suoi Tien Metro line project to the Provincial Political - Administrative Center and Long Thanh International Airport, the Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee assigned the Department of Construction to preside over and coordinate with relevant agencies to urgently advise the Provincial People's Committee to organize a delegation to survey and learn from experience to serve as a basis for comparing, evaluating, and selecting modern, advanced, and long-term value terminal equipment; report the implementation results to the Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee before April 5, 2026.

Previously, on January 31, Dong Nai Provincial People's Committee decided to establish a working group to implement the project to extend the Ben Thanh - Suoi Tien metro line to the Provincial Political - Administrative Center and Long Thanh airport. This is a particularly important project of Dong Nai province.

The project has a basic route direction following the plan, starting from S0 station in Tan Van, following the planned route direction, crossing the Dong Nai River and going along National Highway 1, connecting to SC station of the new administrative center. Then, the route follows the planning corridor of the Bien Hoa - Long Thanh railway line, along DT. 771, cutting through the Ho Chi Minh City - Long Thanh expressway, connecting to SA station and then following the planning corridor for railway lines entering Long Thanh airport.

The total length of the route is about 41.4 km, including 3 main sections:

Section 1, from station S0 to administrative center station (SC), length about 6.1 km; Section 2, from administrative center station (SC) to SA station (to Thu Thiem - Long Thanh railway line), length about 28.2 km; Section 3, (section to the airport) length about 7.1 km (new line and parallel to Thu Thiem - Long Thanh metro line, North - South high-speed railway).

The maximum design speed is 120 km/h (90 km/h in the tunnel) and the maximum operating speed is 110 km/h (80 km/h in the tunnel).

Using scattered dynamic trains (EMU); track gauge 1.435 mm (double track); radio-based train operation control signal system (CBTC), allowing level 4 automation (GoA4); one-way power supply 1500V DC (overhead power supply) or 750V DC (third rail power supply).

Preliminary total investment is about 60,261.8 billion VND (of which compensation and resettlement support costs are about 4,323.2 billion VND).

Implementation time from 2025-2029.
