Bao Loc is planned to become a core urban area in the South of Lam Dong

The area of 4 central wards of Bao Loc is planned to 2050 in the direction of a green and smart city, becoming the southern growth pole of Lam Dong province.

Lam Dong Provincial People's Committee has just approved the general urban planning task for 4 wards including Ward 1 Bao Loc, Ward 2 Bao Loc, Ward 3 Bao Loc and Ward B'Lao until 2050. The planning area has an area of about 37,088ha, including the entire natural area of the 4 wards. The plan is implemented in two phases: To 2030 and vision to 2050.

According to the orientation, the plan aims to concretize the Lam Dong Provincial Plan; promote the advantages of Bao Loc area; and at the same time ensure synchronization with technical infrastructure, social infrastructure, land use and urban development programs.

By 2030, the locality will reorganize the urban space, complete the technical infrastructure system, social infrastructure; develop service - commercial areas, residential areas, public spaces and industrial - service areas associated with agricultural product processing, high-tech agriculture. The goal is to complete the criteria for Bao Loc to be recognized as a type II urban area.

The planning orients Bao Loc's development according to a central urban model combining dynamic clusters, linked by a green belt system. The urban space is expanded along National Highway 20 in the East-West direction and National Highway 55 in the North-South direction, harmoniously connected with river, stream, water surface and natural landscape systems.

By 2050, the area of 4 wards is oriented to become the core urban area in the South of Lam Dong province, a regional center of services - trade, logistics, processing industry, high-tech agriculture, resort tourism, health care, education, health and culture - sports.

Located on the strategic expressways Dau Giay - Lien Khuong and Gia Nghia - Bao Loc - Phan Thiet, Bao Loc is oriented to become a logistics hub, goods transshipment and agricultural product processing, playing the role of gateway connecting the Central Highlands with the Southeast and South Central Coast.

The plan also orients the formation of new urban areas, ecological residential areas, logistics centers, high-tech industrial parks and eco-tourism and resort areas, creating development space and new growth momentum for the southern region of the province.

According to the planning task, the area currently has about 175,681 people; the population is forecast to reach about 198,800 people by 2030 and 325,700 people by 2050. Indicators on land use, technical infrastructure and social infrastructure will be determined in the planning process, ensuring compliance with current standards and in line with actual development requirements.
