Early this morning, storm No. 1 Maysak passed through Hainan Island (China) into the Gulf of Tonkin. At 10:00 AM on July 4th, the storm center was about 30km east of Bach Long Vi special zone (Hai Phong), about 145km south-southeast of Mong Cai (Quang Ninh). The strongest wind near the storm center was strong at level 8-9 (62-88km/h), gusting at level 11.
Information from Bach Long Vi special zone, from this morning, the special zone experienced light rain, moderate rain, and by about 9 am on the same day, heavy rain, strong winds of level 8-9, and strong sea waves.
According to the City Hydrometeorological Station, the Bach Long Vi, Cat Hai special zone and Hon Dau island areas have strong winds of level 6-7, near the storm center level 8-9, gusts of level 11; sea waves are 2-4.5m high; very rough seas. From around noon today onwards, the coastal areas of Quang Ninh - Hai Phong provinces will have strong winds of level 5, then increasing to level 6, near the storm center level 7-8, gusts of level 9-10.
