The strongest wind near the storm center is level 12 - 13 (118-149km/h), gusting to level 16.
The meteorological agency assessed that storm No. 5 was very strong, moved quickly and had a very wide range of impact. In terms of the danger level of this storm No. 5, it is assessed to be no less dangerous than Typhoon Yagi in terms of strong and equal winds, even higher and stronger than Typhoon Doksuri in October 2017.
According to the report of the Border Guard's Civil Defense, Natural Disaster Prevention and Search and Rescue Command, as of 6:00 a.m. on August 24, 2025, 59,613 vehicles/248,820 people have been notified, counted, and instructed to know the developments and direction of the storm to proactively prevent it. Vehicles in the affected area have received warning information and are moving around the bypass.
According to the report of the Civil Defense Command of the Ministry of Construction, the area from Thanh Hoa to Da Nang currently has 359 ships and inland waterway vehicles in operation (135 ships in Thanh Hoa, 42 ships in Nghe An, 65 ships in Ha Tinh, 59 ships in Quang Tri and Hue, 58 ships in Da Nang).
According to the report of the Department of Dyke Management and Natural Disaster Prevention and Control (Ministry of Agriculture and Environment), regarding the situation of sea ban, 7 coastal provinces and cities from Ninh Binh to Hue and Quang Ngai have organized sea ban.
The total aquaculture area in coastal provinces/cities from Thanh Hoa to Quang Tri is 58,611 hectares, with about 5,745 cages of all kinds and 384 aquaculture cages.
