Protect pine forests, reduce speed through Bien Ho Tourist Area

Gia Lai - Vehicles passing through Bien Ho Tourist Area must pay attention to speed and observe to avoid causing danger to tourists.

On August 24, functional sectors of Gia Lai province organized the installation of speed limit signs, paying attention to observation for vehicles when traveling through Bien Ho Tourist Area.

Over the past time, Bien Ho Tourist Area has attracted a large number of tourists to visit. This scenic spot and pine forests are considered symbols of Pleiku mountain town.

The Provincial People's Committee requests Bien Ho commune to have a plan to protect many-year-old pine forests, especially long-term green pine trees at risk of death; and at the same time strictly handle acts of encroachment on pine forests around Bien Ho water area.

Ton Duc Thang street in Bien Ho area is also marked with speed limit signs, especially during peak hours.

This road often has many dump trucks and trucks carrying sand, gravel, and materials from Dak Koi and Duc Nong communes, Quang Ngai province, moving through to gather at material yards in An Phu ward (Gia Lai).

Restricting speed for vehicles when entering Bien Ho Tourist Area will limit the risk of traffic accidents and ensure safety for tourists visiting the scenic spots.

However, in the long term, people expressed their desire that Ton Duc Thang road should ban heavy trucks and dump trucks carrying sand and gravel from circulating.

The reason is that along this route there are crowded residential areas, tourist areas and schools. During rush hour, the number of people flocking to the road is quite large, while heavy trucks often move, always posing a risk of accidents.

By 2030, Gia Lai strives to welcome 18.5 million visitors, including 1.1 million international visitors, with tourism revenue reaching about 45,500 billion VND. The province sets a target to attract investment in building 33,000 accommodation rooms, increasing the average length of stay to 3 days and training over 25,000 direct tourism workers.
