Recently, the Traffic Police Department (CSGT) - Hanoi City Police has increased inspection and punishment of cases of motorbike taxi drivers violating road traffic laws, including technology motorbike taxi drivers (using ride-hailing apps - PV).
Through inspection work, the authorities recorded common violations of motorbike taxi drivers including running red lights, going in the wrong direction, using phones while driving, carrying people without helmets and covering up the license plate.
As in the case of Mr. N.H.H (a technology motorbike taxi driver) who was discovered by the working group of Road Traffic Police Team No. 6 - Traffic Police Department, Hanoi City Police for covering his license plate with stickers, on October 15.
Working with the working group, Mr. N.H.H admitted that his actions were a violation of the law.
"Normally, I still comply, only occasionally when there are traffic jams, I go in the wrong direction. I put up a license plate to avoid being detected by an AI camera, and I will be fined for going in the wrong direction like that," Mr. N.H.H explained.
The traffic police team has issued a fine to Mr. N.H.H for the violation of "Driving a motorbike with a license plate number or using other materials to paint and paste on the letters and numbers of the license plate". For this violation, Mr. H was fined 5 million VND and had 6 points deducted from his driver's license.
For the same violation, Mr. V.V.H (residing in An Khanh, Hanoi) said that because he often carries bulky goods, he is also afraid of being detected by AI cameras.

In fact, not only the act of using tape, masks or other materials to cover the license plate, but the act of carrying goods, tying the sack, or installing a support to obscure the license plate is also a violation and will be handled by the traffic police according to regulations.
According to Lieutenant Colonel Pham Van Chien - Captain of Road Traffic Police Team No. 6, in recent times, the use of surveillance camera systems in managing and handling violations of traffic order and safety (TTATGT) in Hanoi has brought about clear results, contributing to raising people's awareness of law compliance.
However, to deal with the authorities, some drivers of the vehicle, especially technology motorbike taxi drivers and delivery people, deliberately stuck and covered the license plate to avoid detection.
"To prevent this, we have arranged mobile patrol teams using motorbikes and specialized cars to record, detect and strictly handle cases of intentional violations," said Lieutenant Colonel Pham Van Chien.

The Traffic Police Department - Hanoi City Police recommends that people absolutely do not cover or post license plates in any form. Strictly complying with legal regulations not only shows self-awareness but also contributes to ensuring safety and civilization when participating in traffic.
