When asked about the origin and labels of the clothes, the store's staff said: "The store's logo, labels and fabric are imported from abroad, then processed into plagiarized products according to the models of major brands. If customers want to make the same label as the brand, they must order at least 1,000 products or more".
Notably, despite knowing that the market area is being inspected by market management forces, the store is still openly selling.
Avoiding authorities
However, also at a corner of Ninh Hiep market, many kiosks were closed silently, while others urgently collected goods and moved them elsewhere.
The owner of a nearby kiosk said: "The authorities are simultaneously checking tax declarations and goods. Some kiosks are only open for sale, the rest are closed.
According to some traders, recently, there was information that the market management force inspected goods at Ninh Hiep market. This is also one of the reasons why many stores have closed to avoid inspection by the authorities.
Need for more drastic solutions
It must be admitted that, in recent days, the market management forces of Hanoi City have continuously arrested many cases of counterfeit goods, counterfeit goods, poor quality goods, and dirty foods, including fake herbs.

In order to mobilize functional forces and localities to step up the fight against counterfeit and smuggled goods, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh signed Official Dispatch No. 65/CD-TTg on launching a peak period to fight against and repel smuggling, trade fraud, counterfeit goods, and infringement of intellectual property rights.
Accordingly, from 15.5-15.6.2025, the authorities will launch a peak period of attack to fight against and repel smuggling crimes, trade fraud, counterfeit goods, copyright infringement, and intellectual property infringement nationwide. The dispatch clearly stated that the Ministry of Public Security directs the national public security force to closely coordinate with functional forces to identify organizations and individuals suspected of smuggling, trade fraud, production and trading of counterfeit goods, and intellectual property infringement.
The dispatch also requested the Ministry of Industry and Trade to coordinate with the People's Committees of provinces and centrally run cities to direct the Market Management Forces to inspect and strictly handle cases of trading in smuggled goods, counterfeit goods, goods of unknown origin, especially violations in the e-commerce environment...
With Official Dispatch 65/CD-TTg, Hanoi needs to have more specific plans and solutions to prevent counterfeit goods and promptly handle violations that have existed for a long time such as in the "capital" of counterfeit goods and counterfeit goods in Ninh Hiep.
