Accordingly, the inspection activities aim to ensure the quality and origin of animal products, serving the consumption needs of the city's people.
At around 8:20 a.m., the group began checking at the Fresh Shop store on De Tham Street. All activities here are still taking place normally, with 2 staff serving customers. However, at the time of inspection, the pork items were sold out.
At around 8:45 a.m., the group continued to check the Fresh Shop store on Dinh Tien Hoang Street. Here, pork products are sold in a variety of ways, arranged neatly. In particular, chicken and duck products are also carefully packaged.
According to Lao Dong Newspaper reporters, both stores have clearly and transparently listed prices, making it easy for consumers to track and choose products.
After completing the inspection at the two facilities, the representative of the working group said that the Fresh Shop stores had complied with current regulations on animal product trading. Specifically, all inspection documents related to animal products are clear and transparent. The origin of the product is also fully shown.
The representative of the inspection team also informed that the product's display is also very neat, with full labels and information about the production date and expiration date.
According to the report of the Department of Animal Husbandry and Veterinary Medicine of Can Tho City, the city has 22 centralized slaughterhouses, including: 17 slaughterhouses and 5 poultry slaughterhouses.
In addition, there are about 110 traditional markets, 8 large supermarkets, 136 mini supermarkets, 7 Fresh Shop stores of C.P Company and 10 stores, refrigerated warehouses for imported animal products...
For slaughter control: about 1,579 livestock/day; 13,500 poultry/day. The number of animals slaughtered by CP Company in the area is about 150 pigs/day (of which, the slaughterhouse in Giai Xuan commune, Phong Dien district slaughtered about 40 pigs; the slaughterhouse of Hung Phu Investment, Trade and Service Company Limited, Thot Not district slaughtered about 110 pigs).
Animal products originating from slaughterhouses in the area mainly serve local consumption needs and are partly consumed in some neighboring provinces in the region.
