On August 13, people in Sai Nga village (Cam Khe commune, Phu Tho) were shocked to discover a baby girl about nearly 1 month old left in front of their house in a plastic basket.
Accompanying the baby were some clothes, 1.5 million VND in cash and a tearful handwritten letter from the young mother.
Receiving the news at 5:45 am on the same day, Cam Khe Commune Police quickly sent forces to the scene.
The unit coordinated with the Health Station to conduct an initial health check, and at the same time contacted the Commune Culture Department and local authorities to complete procedures for protecting and caring for children.
In the reply note, the mother wrote: "I gave birth to a baby girl weighing about 3kg. My child's father and I met at a bar, after a few times we met, I became pregnant. Since then, we have not been able to contact each other. Because of extremely difficult circumstances, I am not able to raise my child".
In the letter, this person wrote: "Mom apologizes to you for not taking care of you, wishing you a healthy and peaceful life. Mom loves you very much!".
Based on the content of the letter, functional agencies initially identified information about the child's relatives.
While waiting for handling, the family of Mr. N.D. C and Ms. T.T. N expressed their wish to adopt them.
After a consensus between the units, the government temporarily handed over the baby girl to Mr. C.'s family. The homeowner committed to ensuring the best living conditions, not allowing abuse and fully complying with legal procedures.
Cam Khe Commune Police continue to coordinate with functional agencies to complete the dossier, ensuring maximum legitimate rights for the child.
