On June 16, the Police of Ward 26, Binh Thanh District, Ho Chi Minh City coordinated with the professional units of the Ho Chi Minh City Police and the Binh Thanh area team to extract camera footage and investigate the case of a newborn baby girl being thrown into a ditch.
Initial information, at around 6am the same day, people in the Cau Son canal area on Chu Van An Street, Ward 26 discovered a pedestrian throwing a black bag of garbage from Chu Van An Bridge into the canal.
People were suspicious and checked it and were shocked to see a newborn baby girl inside. They rushed to take the newborn baby girl to Gia Dinh People's Hospital for emergency care and treatment.
The incident was reported by local residents to the police. Upon receiving the report, Ward 26 Police were present to coordinate with Ho Chi Minh City authorities to block off and extract camera footage to clarify.
Recorded at the scene, the baby was abandoned in a black nylon bag containing a lot of clothes. At the time of the incident, the water in Cau Son canal was running low, so the child was discovered early by local residents and was covered in mud.
