The project has its starting point (Km0+000) at the end of the coastal road of Tien Giang province in Tan Phu Dong district (Tien Giang province). End point (Km8+900) at the beginning of the Ba Lai 8 bridge project in Binh Dai district (Ben Tre province).
According to Mr. Duc, at the end of June 2024, the People's Committee of Ben Tre province sent a document to the Ministry of Planning and Investment requesting to consider and submit to the Government and National Assembly for permission to invest in the Cua Dai bridge project with 100% central capital. . At the same time, include this project in capital allocation in the medium-term public investment capital plan for the period 2026-2030 for implementation.
Mr. Cao Minh Duc - Director of the Department of Transport of Ben Tre province added that in September 2024, Ben Tre will start construction on the Ba Lai 8 bridge project on the coastal road of Ben Tre province. This project goes through the areas of Binh Dai and Ba Tri districts of Ben Tre province.
"The project will affect 149 households. Currently, Binh Dai district has paid compensation and site clearance for 43 households with a total amount of over 8 billion VND. For 106 households, local authorities 2 Binh Dai and Ba Tri districts are focusing on propaganda and mobilizing people to receive money to hand over the premises" - Mr. Duc said.
Mr. Duc also said that the Ba Lai 8 bridge project is part of the coastal road connecting Ben Tre - Tien Giang - Tra Vinh province that has been approved by the Prime Minister in the road network planning for the 2021 period. -2030, vision to 2050 in Decision No. 1454/QD-TTg dated September 1, 2021.
Accordingly, this project is built with reinforced concrete and prestressed reinforced concrete. The bridge spans the Ba Lai River, with a length of more than 536m, bridge deck width of 22.5m, road leading to the bridge about 12km, level III plain road standard. Design speed 80km/h. With a total investment of about 2,255 billion VND, of which central capital supports nearly 1,500 billion VND, local budget of more than 755 billion VND will be implemented in 2023-2025. The Project Management Board of Investment in Construction of Transport Works in Ben Tre Province is the investor.
According to Decision No. 287 of the Prime Minister approving the Mekong Delta Regional Plan for the period 2021-2030, with a vision to 2050, the coastal road is expected to pass through the provinces of Tien Giang and Ben Tre. , Tra Vinh, Soc Trang, Bac Lieu, Ca Mau and Kien Giang with a total estimated route length of about 788km.
This route is also part of the Western coastal road. When the entire project is completed, it will help vehicles travel from Soc Trang, Tra Vinh through Ben Tre, Tien Giang, Long An to Ho Chi Minh City, shortening the distance by dozens of kilometers, contributing to "sharing the fire" for National Highway 1 and National Highway. 60 and Highway 50
