Dak Nong General Hospital leaks in many places before handover day

The main building of the Dak Nong General Hospital upgrade project has many leaks when the completion and handover deadline is only more than 2 months left.

Leaders of Dak Nong General Hospital (Lam Dong) said that since July 2026, the hospital has repeatedly proposed to the investor and construction units, requesting to handle arising problems to ensure that the project achieves its function when put into use.

Through inspection, many locations on the 7th, 4th and 3rd floors of the main building were leaking. The 7th floor recorded wall, brick base and elevator operating room leaks. The 4th floor has waterproofed roofs, and the ceiling collapsed. On the 3rd floor, some corridors and rooms also showed leaks. The hospital staff is concerned that if not handled thoroughly before putting the project into operation, leaks could affect machinery, medical equipment and professional operations; even having to relocate patients and equipment to fix it, causing trouble for people.

Doctor Tran Duy Dung - Director of Dak Nong General Hospital - said that the investor is the Project Management Board (PMB) for Construction Investment No. 3 of Lam Dong and the contractor are speeding up the progress, but in general the project is still slow. Up to now, nearly 170/700 equipment have been handed over, mainly simple equipment; complex equipment has not been handed over.

According to the Management Board of Construction Investment Projects No. 3 of Lam Dong province, the project has completed about 95% of the contract value.

The main building, auxiliary items and basic technical infrastructure are basically completed; the renovation and repair of the old hospital reached about 55%.

Mr. Nguyen Thai Vuong - Deputy Director of Construction Investment Project Management Board No. 3 of Lam Dong province - said that the contractor is focusing on completing the project and overcoming seepage and leakage locations.

Some locations are only detected during the rainy season. The investor will continue to handle them during construction and the construction warranty period.

The project to upgrade Dak Nong General Hospital has a total investment of 753 billion VND, aiming to upgrade facilities and purchase equipment, meeting the needs of medical examination and treatment for 700 patients.

The main building is 7 floors above ground and 1 basement, with a construction area of more than 8,200m2, and a total floor area of nearly 48,000m2.

According to the decision approved by the Chairman of Lam Dong Provincial People's Committee at the end of March 2026, the contract implementation progress of 4 bidding packages is extended until November 30, 2020.

The project is invested by Construction Investment Project Management Board No. 3 of Lam Dong province, started on December 13, 2022, with a total investment of 753 billion VND, a scale of 700 beds. The main building includes 1 basement and 7 above-ground floors, with a total floor area of nearly 48,000m2.
