Ho Chi Minh City Party Secretary talks about the Water Drop monument in Ly Thai To Park

Ho Chi Minh City - Secretary of the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee Tran Luu Quang said that the "Drops of Water" monument at Park No. 1 Ly Thai To is to commemorate the losses caused by the COVID-19 pandemic.

Many opinions in Vuon Lai and Dien Hong wards also expressed their emotion at the idea of renovating the park, when a "golden land" area that has been barricaded for many years has become a space to commemorate the losses caused by the COVID-19 pandemic, and also a civilized and humane community activity point.

Responding to the opinions, Secretary of the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee Tran Luu Quang said that he only contributed a small part. The spirit of the project is not only limited to commemoration but also towards revival, creating a civilized and humane community living space.

Mr. Tran Luu Quang said that he has followed public opinion in the mass media and recorded many comments praising the idea "tear inside has a heart".

Regarding this design, the Secretary of the City Party Committee said that it was a proposal from a foreign consulting unit. However, before deciding, the city collected about 5,700 opinions from people and experts. "We are very serious about listening to get the most satisfactory product" - Mr. Tran Luu Quang said.

Mr. Tran Luu Quang said that the entire cost of implementing Park No. 1 Ly Thai To is contributed by the enterprise.

In the near future, the public toilet system in Ho Chi Minh City will be renovated, free of charge, towards the "5-6 star" standard, and some businesses have proposed to implement it. "If done well, it can be replicated" - Mr. Tran Luu Quang said.
