On June 10, Mr. Tran Van Lau - Member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Head of the 16th National Assembly Delegation of Vinh Long province and Mr. Tran Tri Quang - Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee chaired a working session with Power Generation Corporation 1 on the operating situation of Duyen Hai Thermal Power Company.
Attending the working session were leaders of relevant departments and branches of the province. Power Generation Corporation 1 reported on production and business results, development plans for the coming time and proposed some difficulties and obstacles in the operation process.
Duyen Hai Thermal Power Company was established in 2015, managing and operating 3 power plants under Duyen Hai Power Center with a total designed capacity of 3, 178 MW. Since going into operation, the power plants have played an important role in supplying electricity to the Southern region and the national power system.
According to reports, the electricity output of Duyen Hai 1 and 3 Thermal Power Plants averages about 11.6 billion kWh per year; Duyen Hai 3 Thermal Power Plant expansion reaches about 2.3 billion kWh per year. Enterprises contribute to the State budget an average of nearly 994 billion VND per year.
To date, the accumulated electricity output of Duyen Hai Thermal Power Company has reached more than 115.5 billion kWh, of which Duyen Hai 3 Expanded Thermal Power Plant has reached 15.1 billion kWh. The total amount contributed to the State budget is about 11,900 billion VND.

At the working session, provincial leaders and departments and branches exchanged and discussed many contents related to the production and business activities of enterprises; and at the same time proposed solutions to remove obstacles under local authority to ensure stable operation of the power system.
Concluding the meeting, Provincial Party Secretary Tran Van Lau acknowledged the contributions of Power Generation Corporation 1 and Duyen Hai Power Center to the socio-economic development of the province through ensuring electricity sources, creating jobs for local workers and effectively implementing social security work.
The Provincial Party Secretary requested the Provincial People's Committee to direct departments and branches to urgently review and definitively resolve obstacles related to administrative procedures, land, environment and assign sea areas to serve projects to upgrade the raw water system, seaports and expand power plants.
At the same time, the tax and industry and trade sectors continue to accompany and support businesses in fulfilling financial obligations; proactively grasp the operating situation to promptly advise on solutions or propose to competent authorities to remove arising difficulties.
The Provincial Party Secretary also agreed on the policy of reviewing and definitively handling energy projects that have been prolonged for many years but are no longer suitable for planning and practical conditions in order to effectively use land resources, sea space and create conditions for the implementation of projects that have been approved.
