Vinh Long Party Secretary visits and supports 3 poor sisters in a deadlock due to illness

HOÀNG LỘC |

Vinh Long - Provincial Party Secretary Tran Van Lau awarded 65 million VND to support three extremely difficult poor sisters after being recorded by Lao Dong Newspaper.

On June 4, Mr. Tran Van Lau - Member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Head of the 16th National Assembly Delegation of Vinh Long province - visited, encouraged and provided support to the family of Mr. Nguyen Buu Nhan in My Phu hamlet, Tan Ngai ward.

Previously, on May 30, Lao Dong Newspaper published an article "Intracranial hemorrhage causes poor man to collapse, two elderly sisters in a deadlock", recording the particularly difficult circumstances of three sisters Mr. Nguyen Buu Nhan living in a degraded charity house, whose main livelihood depends on social allowances and hired labor.

At the visit, Mr. Tran Van Lau kindly encouraged and shared the difficulties that Mr. Nguyen Buu Nhan's family is experiencing. Faced with the particularly difficult circumstances of the three sisters, the Provincial Party Secretary presented 60 million VND for the Tan Ngai Ward People's Committee to manage and implement monthly support, helping the family have more conditions to cover living expenses and long-term health care.

In addition to the above support, Provincial Party Secretary Tran Van Lau also directly handed over 5 million VND to Mr. Nguyen Buu Nhan's family to cope with urgent needs in the immediate future. The total support amount of 65 million VND contributes to helping the three sisters reduce difficulties and have more motivation to overcome the current challenging period.

According to local authorities, for many years, Mr. Nguyen Buu Nhan has been the main breadwinner, doing all kinds of jobs to take care of his two older sisters with limited health and cognitive abilities. However, about two months ago, while picking coconuts for hire, he suddenly suffered a skull hemorrhage suspected of being due to a stroke, had to be treated for a long time and is currently unable to work.

The incident caused the life of the three sisters to fall into a deadlock. All living expenses, medicine and treatment became a burden when the family did not have a stable income source, only relying on meager social assistance.

The timely care and support of the Vinh Long Provincial Party Secretary not only helped Mr. Nhan's family alleviate immediate difficulties but also added motivation for the three sisters to overcome the difficult period of life.
