The fire completely burned down a fishing boat of Nghe An fishermen, causing estimated damage of up to about 1.2 billion VND.
According to information from the People's Committee of Ngoc Son ward, at 01:00, the fishing vessel with registration number NA-90972-TS (length 14.85 m, capacity 136 CV, trawling) owned by Mr. Tran Van Sau (resident in Dien Chau district, Nghe An) and captain Le Cong Tuan (resident in Nam Thanh residential group, Ngoc Son ward) was operating, suddenly caught fire fiercely while anchored at the wharf. It is known that the vessel has entered the wharf from 5:13 pm on May 22.

Immediately after detecting the fire, Lach Ghep Border Guard Station immediately mobilized forces and vehicles to approach the scene. However, because the mooring area is located in a swamp, specialized fire fighting equipment encountered many difficulties in operating and approaching.
Faced with the critical situation, the Border Guard force coordinated with the People's Committee of Ngoc Son ward and functional agencies to mobilize 1 canoe and 5 officers and soldiers, and at the same time called on surrounding fishing boats to participate in support. Dozens of fishermen actively used water hoses, buckets, barrels, basins and available items to put out the fire.

After more than 3 hours of firefighting efforts, by 4 am on the same day, the fire was completely controlled. Although there were no casualties, the entire cabin, ship engine and fishing gear system on the ship were completely burned down.
Currently, functional agencies are investigating and clarifying the cause of the fire to handle it according to regulations. At the same time, local authorities also issued warnings to vehicle owners and fishermen about the risk of fire and explosion at anchorages, especially during the peak hot season.
