On the afternoon of August 18, in the Cong Do sea area (Quang Ninh), two ships HD 6689 and HD 6969 of Quyen Phuc Company Limited, departing from Hon Net port (Quang Ninh) to Kinh Mon (Hai Phong), suddenly encountered large waves and hit the rock.
The HD 6689, controlled by captain Dam Van Doanh, sank. Four crew members and a cargo monitoring staff promptly moved to another vehicle to ensure safety.
The HD 6969 ship had a punctured cargo hold and had to return to Hon Net port to fix the problem.
As soon as the news was received, the Border Guard Station of Cam Pha Port dispatched a boat with 5 officers and soldiers to the scene to coordinate the rescue. The crew members were taken to the health check-up unit and are currently stable.
Also on the afternoon of August 18, in the Tran Island sea area (Quang Ninh), fishing boat TH-92056.TS of Thanh Hoa fishermen suddenly encountered a thunderstorm and sank at sea. On board were 10 people, including captain Ha Van Thiet (born in 1986) and 9 crew members, all residing in Thanh Hoa province.
Thanks to the timely support of local fishermen and border guards, all crew members were rescued after about 20 minutes and brought safely to shore.
The Tran Island Border Guard Station has supported health check-ups, arranged accommodation, and contacted the family. Currently, the health of the fishermen is stable.
Vinasarcom of Quang Ninh province recommends that boats and fishermen absolutely do not be subjective in the face of unusual weather developments, need to promptly take shelter in a safe place, raise awareness of natural disaster prevention to ensure the safety of life and property.
