Binh Dinh - On October 25, Chairman of Binh Dinh province Pham Anh Tuan sent an official dispatch to agencies, units and localities on response to storm Tra Mi - storm number 6.

According to forecasts, on the afternoon of October 24, storm Tra Mi entered the eastern sea of ​​the North East Sea, becoming the 6th storm in 2024. At 4:00 a.m. on October 25, the storm moved westward with the strongest wind near the storm center at level 9-10, gusting to level 12.

According to the Binh Dinh Province Hydrometeorological Station, in the next 24 hours, the center of the storm will be at about 17.7 degrees North latitude, 115.9 degrees East longitude, the strongest wind near the center of the storm will be level 10-11, gusting to level 13; the storm will move in a West Northwest direction, at a speed of about 15-20km/h.

Danger zone from latitude 15.0 - 19.5N; east of longitude 113.5E. This is a storm forecast to be strong, with complex developments, direction of movement, and wind level that may change due to the impact of many weather patterns at sea.

Implementing the Prime Minister's Official Dispatch No. 110/CD-TTg dated October 24, 2024 on focusing on emergency response to storm No. 6, Mr. Pham Anh Tuan requested localities, military forces, police and units to closely monitor the developments of storm No. 6.

Notify vehicle owners and captains of ships and boats operating at sea of ​​the location, direction and developments of the storm so that they can proactively avoid it. Take measures to ensure the safety of ships and boats at the anchorage area.

Organize monitoring and counting of ships and boats operating in areas affected by the storm, closely manage vessels going out to sea, maintain regular communication with vessel owners to proactively and promptly handle bad situations.

Prepare measures to ensure safety for people and property in aquaculture areas. Resolutely evacuate people in cages, rafts, and aquaculture huts to safe places before the storm directly affects them.

On the same day, speaking with Lao Dong, the leader of the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development of Binh Dinh province said that currently, storm Tra Mi is still at sea and has not made landfall. Therefore, what needs to be done now is to immediately notify ships operating at sea to find a place to avoid the storm. Regarding prevention plans, agencies and units are monitoring each development of the storm to have timely response directions.

"According to forecasts, storm Tra Mi will enter the waters of Thua Thien Hue province and Da Nang city this weekend, then return to the East Sea to receive energy and continue moving inland, or it may weaken at sea. Currently, units are monitoring the developments and path of the storm to proactively deploy specific prevention plans," he said.

According to statistics, Binh Dinh currently has 5,656 ships with 39,816 workers operating inshore in the province and anchored at ports; 583 ships with 3,857 workers operating offshore.

Previously, on the evening of October 24, Chairman of Binh Dinh Provincial People's Committee Pham Anh Tuan warned the leaders of departments, branches and localities about the severity of the current natural disaster; at the same time, requested the Provincial Steering Committee for Natural Disaster Prevention - Search and Rescue and Civil Defense, units and localities to activate the Tra Mi storm prevention plan corresponding to the level 4 storm prevention plan, the highest level in flood and storm prevention in the province.
