On November 1, the People's Committee of Binh Dinh province announced that the provincial Chairman Pham Anh Tuan had agreed to invest in the project to urgently relocate households living in the landslide area at Ganh mountain (Duc Pho 1 village, Cat Minh commune, Phu Cat district), phase 2.
This move was made due to the serious landslides on Ganh Mountain in recent years. Many landslides stretched for tens of meters, causing residents living in the surrounding area to feel insecure.
The resettlement project, invested by Phu Cat District People's Committee, covers an area of nearly 37,000m2, with a total investment of 35 billion VND from the budget of Binh Dinh province and Phu Cat district. The resettlement area will accommodate about 66 households in the disaster area of Duc Pho 1 village to move out of the danger zone and stabilize their lives.
In addition to resettlement arrangements and relocation of households in Ganh mountain, Binh Dinh province is considering the proposal of An Lao district People's Committee on relocating people in the landslide area of Tra Cong mountain (An Hoa commune).
In the Tra Cong landslide area, there are currently 204 households in need of relocation, of which 54 households are in the danger zone. Previously, the People's Committee of An Lao district proposed to request a budget of over 200 billion VND to relocate 204 households.
