On February 19, the Steering Committee against smuggling, trade fraud and counterfeit goods of Binh Dinh province (abbreviated as the Steering Committee) reported on the fight against smuggling, trade fraud and counterfeit goods in January 2025.
According to the Steering Committee, January 2025 is the time near the Lunar New Year, so the production, business, service and circulation of goods in the province are bustling.

The high demand for consumption during Tet also caused the prices of some essential goods such as meat, poultry, wine, beer, soft drinks, fruits, green vegetables, etc. to increase, but at an appropriate level.
Determining that this is a period prone to smuggling, trade fraud and counterfeit goods, the authorities of Binh Dinh province have increased inspection and handling of violations in the transportation and trading of smuggled goods, counterfeit goods and trade fraud.
Inspection work focuses on behaviors such as buying and selling prohibited goods, smuggled goods without invoices, documents or without sub-labels as prescribed.
However, the inspection and handling process also encountered some difficulties due to increasingly sophisticated activities of smugglers, trade fraud and counterfeit goods, especially in the e-commerce market.
In January 2025, the authorities of Binh Dinh province inspected 129 cases and discovered 115 violations (including 4 violations related to the trade of prohibited and smuggled goods; 111 violations of trade fraud).
106 administrative violations have been handled, with more than 27.5 billion VND paid to the state budget, including: Administrative fines of more than 3.9 billion VND; additional fines and tax arrears of more than 23.6 billion VND.
To improve the effectiveness of the fight against smuggling, trade fraud and counterfeit goods in the coming time, the Steering Committee recommends that the authorities continue to consolidate and focus in depth on each locality and field, while clearly defining the responsibilities of each unit, and promoting the responsibility of the head.
In addition, promptly and strictly handle cadres and civil servants who assist, condone or show negative signs in performing their tasks.
The relevant agencies mobilized the masses to reflect and denounce violations, thereby contributing to improving the effectiveness of the fight against smuggling, trade fraud and counterfeit goods.
