
In order to affirm its long-term commitment to promoting safe digital transformation in Vietnam, on June 26, 2025, Google and the Department of Cyber Security and High-Tech Crime Prevention under the Ministry of Public Security officially announced cooperation to implement the campaign To Prevent Online Fraud - More Safety with the Ministry of Public Security & Google.
This online platform-focused propaganda campaign is designed to equip the community with useful knowledge to help identify and stay away from sophisticated online scams, strengthening the necessary safety platform for a healthy digital society.
In the context of an increasingly digital world, Internet users in Vietnam face more and more online threats. According to statistics from the Ministry of Public Security, in 2024, more than 6,000 cases were detected, with a total damage of more than VND 12,000 billion.
A safe and secure Internet space is an essential foundation for building a dynamic Vietnamese digital economy. Google is well aware of the growing threat of online scams and we are committed to using our technology to address these alarming challenges.
Google Play's anti-fraud protection function has blocked 4.5 million attacks of suspected malware-based applications on 1 million Android devices, said Marc Woo, CEO of Google Vietnam.

We have seen with our own eyes how these forms of fraud erode trust and cause heavy losses. According to the Department of Cyber Security and High-Tech Crime Prevention, the 7 most common forms of fraud include: (1) Fraud impersonating educational institutions, (2) Fraud recovering suspended capital, (3) Fraudulent payment for services, (4) Fraudulent online shopping and travel, (5) Fraudulent impersonation of police officers, the Procuracy, the Court, (6) Fraudulent financial gain axis, (7) Fraudulent investment on fake platforms.
Lieutenant Colonel Nguyen Ba Son - Deputy Director of the Department of Cyber Security and High-Tech Crime Prevention and Control assessed that propaganda work, especially raising people's awareness, is a key factor to limit the situation of online fraud.
Lieutenant Colonel Nguyen Ba Son said that to effectively implement this work, it is necessary to have the cooperation of the whole society to build a safe and healthy online environment. In particular, it is necessary to have the participation and coordination of transnational enterprises with a large number of users in Vietnam.
