Hanoi - On March 11, 2025, the Ministry of Industry and Trade coordinated with the Vietnam Journalists Association to organize the Launching Ceremony of the 2025 Energy-saving and Efficient Press and Propaganda Awards.

The ceremony was attended by representatives of the Ministry of Industry and Trade, the Vietnam Journalists Association, Vietnam Electricity Group (EVN), associations and associations operating in the field of energy saving, along with many journalists and reporters from press and television agencies.

The Press and Propaganda Award on Energy-saving and Efficient Use is one of the communication activities under the VNEEP Program. The award aims to raise public awareness and responsibility in using energy economically and efficiently, while honoring outstanding authors and journals on energy-saving and efficient use at the central and local levels. This is the 14th year the Award has been held nationwide.

Speaking at the launching ceremony, Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade Nguyen Hoang Long said: "2025 marks an important period in Vietnam's sustainable development process, with the message "Green Transition - Green Future". This is not only a strategic orientation but also our strong commitment to using energy efficiency, reducing emissions and promoting a green economy. To realize this goal, the press and media play a pioneering role in spreading messages, orienting awareness and promoting action in the whole society.

Vietnam is one of the fastest growing economies in the ASEAN region, with increasing energy demand. This growth puts great pressure on the national energy system. Depending on imported energy creates risks to energy security, especially in the context of the current constantly fluctuating global energy market.

Faced with this situation, over the years, the Vietnamese Government has continuously made efforts to ensure energy security through improving energy efficiency. Many specific policies and activities to promote energy-saving and efficient use in the whole society have been implemented.

On March 13, 2019, the Prime Minister issued Decision No. 280/QD-TTg approving the National Program on energy-saving and efficient use for the period 2019 - 2030 (VNEEP3 Program) to synchronously deploy activities in the field of energy-saving and efficient use nationwide, in which communication activities raise awareness of the community, businesses and the whole society about the responsibility and benefits of energy-saving and efficient use and energy-saving solutions that play an important role.
