The Ministry of Industry and Trade has a document sent to the People's Committees of provinces and centrally-run cities on coordinating propaganda activities to respond to the movement "All people use energy economically and effectively and respond to the Earth Hour 2026 Campaign".
Earth Hour is a global campaign with widespread communication significance, implemented by many countries and localities to promote community awareness and action towards efficient energy use, technology application and innovation. The campaign aims for a green - clean - beautiful Earth.
In Vietnam, the Ministry of Industry and Trade has been the agency in charge of organizing responses to the Earth Hour campaign continuously for the past 15 years, the event has attracted the participation of provinces and cities nationwide, with many classes and participants, bringing high and practical propaganda effectiveness.
Promoting the spillover effect of Earth Hour Campaign, the Ministry of Industry and Trade organizes the movement "All people use energy economically and effectively and respond to Earth Hour Campaign 2026" on March 21, 2026 with the message "Green Creativity - Green Future" to call on all levels, sectors, business communities and people nationwide to strengthen practice of using energy economically and effectively; proactively apply technological solutions, innovate production and consumption methods, gradually form a reasonable energy-using lifestyle, contributing to improving productivity, quality and efficiency of socio-economic development.
In order for the movement to be implemented uniformly, synchronously, substantively and have a widespread impact throughout the country, the Ministry of Industry and Trade respectfully requests the People's Committees of provinces and cities directly under the Central Government to pay attention to directing and coordinating the implementation of some of the following contents:
Direct the organization of information and propaganda activities in the area to mobilize agencies, organizations, businesses and people to actively respond to the movement "All people use energy economically and effectively and respond to the Earth Hour Campaign 2026", associated with the goal of green transformation, innovation and improving energy efficiency.
Integrate activities to respond to Earth Hour 2026 with socio-economic development programs and plans, electricity saving programs, economical and efficient energy use of localities; associated with the implementation of Directive No. 20/CT-TTg of the Prime Minister on strengthening electricity saving and tasks related to innovation, digital transformation, and green transformation according to the Party and State's policy.
Mobilize agencies, organizations, businesses and households to participate in the Earth Hour 2026 Enlightenment Event from 8:30 PM to 9:30 PM, Saturday, March 28, 2026, and at the same time encourage the regular maintenance of acts of using electricity and energy economically and efficiently in daily life and production and business.
The Ministry of Industry and Trade hopes to receive the attention, direction and close coordination of the People's Committees of provinces and cities directly under the Central Government so that the movement can be implemented effectively and practically, contributing to promoting green transformation, innovation and improving energy efficiency in the whole society.
