During this Tet holiday, all preparations for welcoming spring, guarding, and staying close to the area were carried out very seriously and responsibly. The units presented more than 2,000 gifts, banh tet, banh chung, and hundreds of millions of dong to poor people in border areas. Presented 1,000 photos of Uncle Ho, national flags, and distributed leaflets to promote the law to fishermen. Actively and proactively improved the effectiveness of border management and protection, organized 30 patrols with the Youth Union, Women's Union, and the elderly, strictly controlled the border and key areas, resolutely fought, prevented, handled, and promptly and effectively resolved incidents that occurred.
Border stations and checkpoints check and control tens of thousands of people and vehicles passing through border gates and seaports. Procedures are carried out quickly, neatly, strictly and in accordance with the law, ensuring a smooth flow for tourists and people to enjoy the spring in border areas, seas and islands. Effectively prevent smuggling and illegal transportation of goods across the border.
Lieutenant Colonel Nguyen Tan Duong - Head of the Ha Tien International Border Guard Station, the unit assigned to guard the important gateway of Kien Giang province - informed that before Tet, the Party Committee and Command of the unit directed stations, teams, and posts to synchronously deploy Border Guard work measures: "Proactively grasp the developments of the internal and external situation on the border and sea areas, stay close to the people to celebrate Tet, stay close to the people to work. At the Border Guard Station at Duong Dong Port, Phu Quoc City, in the days before, during and after Tet, the unit has synchronously deployed Border Guard operations. Closely and regularly coordinated with other forces to effectively manage and protect the island's sea areas.
Lieutenant Colonel Dang Van Lanh - Deputy Commander of the Border Guard Command of Duong Dong Port, the main unit in protecting Phu Quoc Island - said: "The control stations maintain the tasks of preventing and fighting natural disasters, searching and rescuing to ensure strict safety for people and equipment. In the days before, during and after Tet, the units have deployed troops to key areas.
